New Harrisdale Display – The Waldorf
- Published on 21 September 2012
National Homes’ newest display homes in Harrisdale, The Waldorf and The Astoria, are both reminiscent of their namesake – the internationally-renowned New York hotel which represents quality, luxury and style throughout the world.
Both homes have been designed to showcase National Homes’ impressive level of design, specification and quality construction that makes the builders’ Signature Series display homes standout from the crowd.
National Homes’ Brand Manager Tony Harvie says the builder is exceptionally proud of The Waldorf, noting that it’s not often that any home design can incorporate all of the spaces needed for a growing family and still offer a multitude of ‘surprise and delight’ features.
“There are so many ‘wow’ factors to The Waldorf, elements which will no doubt make this beautiful home one of our most sought-after designs,” said Tony. “From the standout designer kitchen which overlooks the integrated web zone in the children’s wing, to the secluded master retreat with its functional and stylish walk-in robe and the opulent ensuite with a separate bath and shower, The Waldorf’s thoughtful design is sure to please.”
National Homes has also once again partnered with internationally-renowned interior design firm Coco Republic to create the colour palettes and interior styling of the new display homes, a collaboration that Tony says has produced another magnificent result.
The interior palette and styling reflects the West Australian natural coastal environment and complements the space and location of the home. The overall scheme is fresh, bold and contemporary with clear relaxation spaces, and bursts of colour.
A rendered curve wall is an eye catching addition to the facade, enhancing the contemporary elevation with another outstanding feature.
Entering via an oversize pivot entry door, the spacious foyer features high ceilings which continue the length of the home. It’s off this foyer that the bedroom wing is located, comprised of three double sized minor bedrooms with built-in robes with White Kote sliding doors, the second bathroom, a separate powder room for visitors and an integrated web zone. Be it work or play, activity in the webzone can be monitored through the viewing window in the kitchen, so that parents can be involved in homework or play activities while preparing meals.
As is the theme of The Waldorf, this whole space is functional, yet also incredibly stylish. As with all National Homes, the kitchen is a stand out feature and a distinct design highlighted by a dropped ceiling, drawing attention to its size and grandeur. Awning overhead cupboards create exceptional storage space above all benchtops, while ample underbench cupboards and pot drawers complete the picture. The expansive free standing island bench features beautiful stone benchtops with waterfall ends and a feature laminated upstand, which offers additional informal seating space aswell as providing an eye catching addition to the room. Designer European inspired stainless steel appliances are used throughout the kitchen, including a free standing 900mm stove and oven, plus overhead rangehood. There’s a large laminated pantry, and an appliance nook with a roll down door, keeping clutter well hidden from view, and the adjacent laundry can be shut off from the rest of the home. The colour palette has a warm, neutral feel, with earthy tones inspired by the great outdoors.
High 31 course ceilings are also a feature in the living and dining space at the heart of the home. Stacking doors integrate the alfresco to create a beautiful and functional entertaining space, where a gloss wood ceiling adds to the welcoming feel of the area.
The master retreat is secluded at the very rear of the home, offering a true haven to enjoy every day. Flooding the room with natural light, sliding doors to the garden allow convenient access to nature, and the oversized design incorporates a handy nook for furniture or a piece of artwork. Indulgent as it is practical, the ensuite features a luxurious bath and roomy shower, which features both a rainfall shower head and hand held spout, as well as a tiled plinth. Twin semi-recessed china basins, stone benchtops, integrated drawers and chrome mixer taps add to the classic luxury of the space. The walk in robe is cleverly concealed adjacent to the ensuite and offers exceptional space with fully integrated shelving, draws and hanging rails.
