New Display Home Now Open – The Astoria

National Homes’ newest display homes in Harrisdale, The Waldorf and The Astoria, have been thoughtfully designed and built to reflect the diversity of the WA lifestyle and its residents.
Named for the world renowned Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, these homes stylishly reflect the luxury and quality the hotel is known for.
According to Tony Harvie, Brand Manager for National Homes, The Astoria is an outstanding example of the collaboration between National Homes Research and Design team and internationally-renowned interior design firm, Coco Republic.
“The Astoria was created to appeal to families who appreciate a distinctly liveable home, with emphasis on attention to detail. The fit out by our interior designers Coco Republic is bright and fresh with a subtle Scandinavian feel. The overall result is low maintenance luxury living, with a sophisticated feel and bold elements that set The Astoria apart from other display homes.”
Designed to make the most of every inch of space on a 10m cottage homesite, the three bedroom, two and a half bathroom home features a rendered façade with contrasting masonry and an eye catching pillar, giving The Astoria a modern, contemporary feel.
“Although this home is designed to fit on a cottage homesite, every inch of available space has been utilised, and the premium level of fixtures and fittings in the home is impressive,” said Tony.
The home office is located to the front of the home, separate from the main living areas and overlooking the front garden. It’s a design which works well for those who mix business and home life, keeping visitors separated from the rest of the house, with a powder room thoughtfully servicing this area. The double sized children’s bedrooms are located off the arterial hallway and each has its own built in robes.
Central to the home is the living, dining and entertainment zone – the true delight of this home – naturally lit by highlight windows over the living space and in the kitchen. Two sets of bi-fold doors offer further integration with the outdoors, the first opening out to a welcoming alfresco and the second expanding the dining space, creating the perfect setting for social interactions of any kind.
Showcasing a feature island bench with waterfall ends that easily doubles as a breakfast bar, the designer kitchen overlooks the living and dining areas. Keeping with the National Homes Quality Benchmark, this chef’s delight is beautifully appointed with European designed appliances and a sleek concealed rangehood, a double undermount sink and chrome bench mounted mixer tap. To maximise storage space, recessed overhead and underbench cupboards are coupled with pot drawers and a full height double door pantry. The laundry is within reaching distance and is a feature in its own right, with overhead and underbench storage and stone benchtops. A roomy linen closet is tucked away and provides even more storage space, so there’s a place for everything.
The master suite is secluded at the rear of the home, and is a design feature in itself. The walk-in robe-cum-dressing room is cleverly incorporated with the ensuite and comes complete with drawers, fitted shelving and hanging rails. Reminiscent of a luxury New York hotel, the ensuite includes twin semi-recessed basins and a roomy shower with an in-built bench and oversized rainwater showerhead – a lavish ‘must have’ for those who appreciate their own space.
