From fancy feathered accessories, to flighty figurines, to flocks flying across walls, birds continue to appear everywhere in interiors.
Take inspiration from the Oly collection at Coco Republic, where little bird figures are referenced in dining and occasional chairs, cabinetry, lighting, home wares and mural art.
The Flamingo fabric from Spark is probably my favourite and love the innovative concept behind product Design er Reiko Kaneko’s interpretation of Louis Ghost Chair. Eames was way ahead of his game with the bird figurine circa 1910 and the Icarus light from designer Tord Boontje is a striking sculptured piece.
For a more subtle, textured approach go with a feathered light shade, wall sculpture or table decoration. Bird cage lighting is another interesting way to tackle the theme, or if you are feeling bold go for a stand out wall sticker, like the silhouette flock on a wire below.
